Looking at Ballard residential listings, it is interesting to see what you can get for under $500,000! I excluded condos and townhouses for this search, but I can tell you there were over 30 townhouse options
around the $400k range. For stand alone residential homes, there are currently 51 available in Ballard on the MLS. They range from $199,999 for an adorable 325 square foot mini house to a nicely appointed bungalow on the edge of Sunset Hill for $450k to a beautiful brick Tudor on 80th for $499k. The choices are astounding and most of them are found between that $450k and $500k mark, but there are some good digs in the lower tiers as well. It is possible to get a short sale or foreclosure in Ballard as well, but they are not as prevalent in this market.
Ballard is a great place to live - especially if you want to have everything at your finger tips as far as activities go. Ballard has a movie theatre, restaurants, shopping, the Puget Sound, the Ship Canal, easy access to Seattle’s Central Park: Green Lake, Fremont, Wallingford, Phinney Ridge Greenwood, freeways, and more. There are some pretty good city, mountain, and Puget Sound views to be found, too.
