Welcome to Normandy Park. Normandy Park is a beautiful waterfront community located along the shores of Puget Sound in King County, with convenient access to downtown Seattle and the SeaTac International Airport. With approximately 6,500 residents and covering an area of about 2.5 square miles, the community places its highest priorities on maintaining and enhancing its quiet pedestrian-friendly setting and providing a healthy and safe environment in which residents can raise their families.
Normandy Park: With An Emphasis on “PARK”
An elaborate 100 acre park system was put in place in Normandy Park to preserve the beautiful wooded setting of the city. There are six large parks in the city boundaries including a couple nature preserves. In addition, Normandy Park has mini parks and a recreation center. The Normandy Park Walking Trail Loop System is an incredible asset to the community and consists of three loop trails that are connected. Here is an amazing map of Normandy Park showing you the trails and including additional details of length and intensity: Normandy Park walking trails.
Normandy Park Member Only Perks…
In addition to the other outdoor activities and spaces, there are incredible opportunities to join The Cove (Normandy Park Community Club), The Normandy Park Swim Club, and the Olympic View Swim and Tennis Club.
A little about The Cove in Normandy Park: A large portion of Normandy Park homes benefit from this! The Cove is by far one of the most incredible community assets we have seen in all of the Seattle Suburbs. It is 18 acres that is collectively owned by 1800 households including about 75% of Normandy Park and a small section of Burien depending on how it was platted out and deeded in 1929. If you have a question about whether or not you are in The Cove Boundaries, then you should call them at 206-242-3778 and give them the address. Membership is only $50 a year for beach and grounds and $65 if you want additional access such as tennis.
From their site: “The Cove (a.k.a. Lot A) consist of 18 acres located at the west end of SW Shorebrook Drive in the city of Normandy Park, WA. It includes 700 feet of waterfront on Puget Sound, a community clubhouse, tennis courts, woods with interpretive trails, two creeks (Miller and Walker), a duck pond for salmon rearing and a wetland area.
